Fitting exercise into my life had been in the back of my mind for a while but I had not found anything that suited me. Zumba was too cardio and not stretchy enough, and Pilates was too stretchy and not cardio enough. Aerobics at the gym had dreadful music and yoga was too slow. Then a friend told me about a Fitness League exercise class so I went along for a free try.
I had never heard of Bagot Stack, but this turned out to have all the elements I wanted rolled into one. It has a combination of fitness, posture, balance, stretching, brain gym and fun! It is all done to music which helps keep you moving at the right pace. The music is really tasteful and makes it so enjoyable, it is not uncommon to hear people singing along as they move. You can do the exercises as vigorously or as gently as you like to suit your own body. There is some variety which makes it fun too, like swinging clubs in a choreographed way, or stretching giant bands. This programme is not at all expensive, and our instructor, Val is knowledgeable, well-prepared, helpful and friendly. What a wonderful friendly support group it is too. For me it was like having instant family.
It is so important to make time for exercise. I highly recommend the Fitness League.
