Fitness League provides me with the graduated movement and co-ordination challenges that have really helped my overall posture and strength. As a grandma lifting a toddler,  I believe that I have fewer twinges and muscle pain now I gave joined this group.         Nola

 

Fitness League style of exercise

I was attracted to the Fitness League style of exercise by it’s combination of music and movement to keep the body supple.

Sonia conducts her classes in a fun way, with great music and laughter.  She has a genuine desire to help us keep our bodies in a healthy state and enthusiastically guides us through the exercise movements, giving clear instructions and gentle coaxing when we need it. Sonia’s obvious love for music shines through the dances sequences she formulates and the floor exercises too.

No matter what frame of mind and state my body is in before class – by the end of it I am feeling uplifted, lighter, flexible and with a straighter posture.

I have been attending this style of fitness class once a week for about 18 years and I am so thankful for it.

Monday – Silverdale

I do enjoy Monday class at Silverdale, in particular the neck, shoulder and arm exercises we have been doing over the last few weeks.  These are the very exercises my acupuncturist had given me to do daily to get rid of my “tennis elbow” or overuse syndrome.  I am also very aware that as time sweeps us along we need to be reminded to Stand Straight and to keep Moving our Feet Quickly.  Thank you for your classes.  Jane

Tuesday Silverdale

I have never been a fitness person and the only time I have ever done any kind of fitness was when I was at school – a million miles ago.

I was introduced to the Fitness League – Tuesday Silverdale class – This was so good for me to have the kind of pace as it was so new to me.  However, it has taken about three years to get this body to go the same way and many a time I would burst out laughing to see myself trying to get the body moving in the right direction as all the others in my class.

A change of teacher has happened and has set our fitness up another noch.  Wow!  What has happened is amazing to me, because I have noticed how my body has started to firm up much to my surprise and delight, I am also looking nice and trim and have taken years off my life.  The Fitness League has been so good for me because I was beginning to get some health issues, but all has disappeared. Thanks to Fitness League classes for keeping me healthy and fit and to all other members in the class, for being patient with me through this journey.  Jan

 

Fitness League classes

I have been attending Fitness League classes since 2002 when it began in Katikati.  Moving to music is so liberating.

The exercises we do keep me focussed on improving my balance and coordination and maintaining good posture.

The friendly company is good fun and my teacher is fantastic.

Wednesday is the highlight of my week.

For many years now I have been attending Fitness League classes, originally at Silverdale and Whangaparoa, and for the past 11 years in Tauranga.

After a bad accident in 2002, I spent eight weeks in traction.  With my good leg I was still able to do some of the floor exercises, eg raising the leg whilst flexing the foot.  The teacher tried to get me to wiggle my toes at the same time, but that was beyond me.

In June this year, I had a total knee replacement, and I truly believe exercise again, especially the floor ones, have given me the strength to walk properly.  There is still pain, but this will eventually subside, and then its back with the group again.

The camaraderie of the friendly ladies, who are all there for the same purpose, exercise, fun and friendship, is very special to me.
