Our Annual AGM and weekend retreat at Vaughan Park took place in March on the same weekend Saint Patricks day was celebrated so plenty of fun took place.
11 of of our B.O.P members came and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, great company, awesome venue & delicious food.
We presented two members lifetime memberships to Audrey and Rosemary click here for more details.
We played a few games, one was trying to find foil chocolate money from a box of shredded paper with a pair of small tongs.
We also has an Irish hat making competition
The funniest game was a tissue box filled with ping pong balls tied around your waist which you had to shake, jump etc to get the balls out in a set time.
Oh and we did lots of exercises too
This photo is after a morning class, they worked hard and were ready for their lunch.
The weather played its part and a long walk along the beach with a couple of members jumping in for a swim was the icing on the weekend.
Testimonials from some of our attending members
Vaughan Park 2024
What a fab weekend in a beautiful setting with excellent facilities.
It was my second visit and just as much fun as the first. Super to be amongst kindred spirits, reuniting with familiar faces and getting to know new members.
New teacher Jeanine and teacher Pam keeping us all entertained with games and lots of laughter, so good for the soul😊.
Thoroughly enjoyed all our classes including our guest teacher Helena. We were taught new exercises focused on the waltz, quick step, cha cha cha etc at a fast pace, it was a great workout.
Special mention to our chef and team for all the wonderfully presented food, delicious.
Thank you to everyone involved in the planning. See you all next time😊Susan Fisher

Long Bay Weekend
It was a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. Apart from Friday, the weather was lovely and even warm enough for a swim and a walk along the beach.
It was a good chance to mix and mingle and get to know not only the members of your own center but also those from others.
The food was delicious and it was a treat to have someone else prepare the 3 meals a day.
We had lots of laughs especially during the limerick writing on Saturday night and playing the game of “shake your Butt”!!! Too hard to explain as it would loose the impact in translation.
We were well exercised with classes both days and all enjoyed the ” Ballroom Steps” class taken by Helena even though at the end of 1 and ½ hours we were all exhausted.
The weekend concluded with the AGM and several issues were discussed and passed before we all headed home unfortunately to get our own evening meal.

The FLexercise Limerick Game
Another game was to write a Limerick based around FLexercise. These were then read out with members donning the Saint Patrick Day hats they had made.
Here are a couple that we though you might enjoy.
The first 3 Limericks are from the fabulous group who travelled up from the Bay Of Plenty – our Tauranga & KatiKati classes.
There once was a young lady from Kati
Who was decidedly natty
She lead us so well
And nobody fell
Because we mostly lay on the matty
—————
We all go to FLexercise
We raise our legs and wiggle our thighs
Pams our teacher
She is the feature
Of every Wednesdays exercise.
—————
To Auckland we came to tax our brain
To flex our bodies and ignore the pain
To see what we could do
To dance that was anew
And bet your sweet life we’ll be back again
—————
The 4th one is from a group of Auckland teachers & members.
Oh the work that goes into an AGM
But women are so much better than men
At getting things done and multi tasking
That it’s over in a flash of lightning
Or thats at least what we hope will happen!!!
