During our AGM & Celebrations at Vaughan Park in March 2024, we held a presentation celebrating two of our long term FLexercise members and presented them with life membership.
Val our wonderful teacher for Sunnynook & Remuera, presented Audrey with her life membership.
Nina our lovely teacher for Pukekohe & Pakuranga Village classes presented Rosemary with her life membership.
AUDREY HAINSWORTH
Val Wightman nominated Audrey Hainsworth with a Life membership, at our AGM meeting 17th March 2024.
Audrey has been a member since 1956, joining first at a class which was run in the QueensArcade, central Auckland. Kay Rhodes wasthe Teacher. Over the years she has beena member with Nina North, then Carol Wade and still at Sunnynook Centre, a member with Val Wightman.
Whilst Audrey has been a long standing member, it is also the work she provided to our organisation, when we were holding various events.
Audrey being a qualified cake decorator (she also makes the fabulous cakes), has provided a large number of cakes for our 70th, 75th, 80th and 85th celebrations. Also to various centres including Pukekohe, when they were celebrating mile stones birthdays.
It was with pleasure that I nominated Audrey as she has given us so much enjoyment over the years, plus Sunnynook members have had various biscuits, cakes etc, that Audrey just brings along to class for our morning teas. There is never anything left!!
ROSEMARY MCKENZIE
It was with much pleasure that Nina North nominated Rosemary McKenzie with a Life Membership at our AGM 17th March 2024.
Rosemary joined Nina’s class back in 1981, and was a very enthusiastic member.
Rosemary and her husband Don, both qualified physiotherapists, were running their own business at the time. In 2003 Rosemary joined a group to train as a teacher. She ran the Waiheke class whilst training, as unfortunately Jan Quadling had passed away. Rosemary did not want the Waiheke class to close, so stepped into the fore.
Completing training in 2005, qualifying beginning 2006. Since that time Rosemary has been a very supportive teacher, not only to her Waiheke members but also to the organisation. She assisted the teachers, on our CPD days, with very informative help using her physiotherapy experience to assist all the other teachers.
We have been very fortunate that Rosemary has carried on teaching Waiheke class for all these years, handing the batten on to Jeanine Saunders at the end of 2023.
Our grateful thanks to Rosemary for all her informative information over the years and the support she has given to the Teachers as well as the organisation.
