Sonia’s Class are all Footloose and have got the ball rolling!

April 10, 2026 By Sonia Sandford

Sonia Classes have been enjoying the benefits of foot rolling recently. Why is foot rolling beneficial? It breaks up tissue tension increases blood flow and releases tightness in the plantar fascia and calf muscles, which helps to alleviate pain from conditions like plantar fasciitis.

By massaging the foot, it improves:

  • mobility in the feet and ankles, supports better alignment, and reduces compensatory strain in the knees, hips, and back.
  • pain relief and recovery, as it is treating trigger points.
  • mobility and flexibility as it can aid towards increasing range of motion in both feet and ankle joints.
  • better circulation, muscle recovery and reducing swelling.

Foot rolling can also have Preventive Care benefits.  Regular rolling can enhance foot function and prevent injuries by breaking up adhesion in the fascia.

Best of all, for this author, it is great for relaxation and stress reduction as it stimulates nerve ending lowering stress and improving overall comfort.

Happy rolling everyone.
